GORGEOUS!
The puppies are growing up!  They still take long naps but are always ready to be held by the kids or play with each other.  They are learning to paw and wrestle.  We've seen a few scratch their sides with their back leg.  The younger girls of the family pretend they are dolls and wrap them up and sing sweet nothings in their ears.  Ripley enjoys the help, we think!

All the puppies have new owners!  Peggy, whose new name is Aspen, is going the farthest.  Her new home is Denver!  She is pictured below.  Two pups will make their way to Minnesota, a few will go to homes in the Milwaukee area, one to Waunakee, and then one stays in Elm Grove to live with a family down the street.  It has been fun to see the new families interact with the pups.  There will be a few tears here as we say good-bye in a few weeks.

Today's purchases were 11 dog toys, a big bag of puppy food, and 11 little bowls!  We will start the pups on a mash of food this week.  Yum!  Ripley gets to go to the groomer tomorrow so she will feel light and carefree after her buzz!  We can't wait!

                                           Puppies Walking!
In the last week, the puppies have grown by leaps and bounds. Their eyes are clearly visible, and their claws are becoming more apparent. They are getting stronger and stronger. Most are walking on four legs without trouble.  Their features are getting more defined like labradoodles every day, especially their noses, eyes, and whiskers.

Ripley's puppies are almost all sold. On the weekend of June 15 seven pups met their new owners.  The best part of the whole process has been watching the beautiful smiles from everyone as they gaze at the whelping pen full of slumbering or squeaking pups.  For the few minutes that our guests are here, they forget all their worries and enjoy the little bodies in front of them!  It is such a joy to be able to be a part of a birthday surprise or a special moment!

Many of the pups are walking on shaky legs for the first time today.  Most of them have their eyes open.  We see a deep rich brown eye color-just like momma!  They have little whiskers and perfect paws.  Amazing!

                                      Puppies Going Fast!

Today many people came to see the puppies.  A grand total of three were sold only today. More future puppy owners are coming tomorrow.   The puppies have started to crawl and open their eyes.  How quickly those two weeks have gone by.  Happy fathers day to all! Hope your weekend is happy and healthy!

                                               Puppies' Sire
The puppies are starting to open their eyes. It will be fun to see them scampering around soon. Below are health papers and pictures of the puppies' sire, Gazoo. Isn't he handsome! We will be charging $700 per puppy and they will be ready to leave Ripley at around July 22.

                                                  Puppies
The puppies have grown a lot in the last week, and some are already big enough to try to crawl. Ripley is spending more time relaxing than she has in a long time. Every day she lets us walk her farther away from the house and the puppies. All are still very dependent on mother for milk and each other for warmth.

                                     Fun Day with Puppies
Today the puppies received more attention from neighbors, relatives, and friends. The puppies spent much time being held, petted, and adored by potential owners.
Ripley is recovering well and enjoyed a cocktail of warm milk and yogurt this evening. She even walked around a small block today.

                                            Outdoor Puppies
Today the puppies were moved outside for some fresh air and sunshine. All stayed close to mommy and milk, and they are too small to move far at all. The puppies enjoyed being outside, and we can't wait for them to be big enough to play with.

                                                 Puppies

Today the puppies are doing well, but have received a lot of attention from their fans, including neighbors, family, and friends. Ripley delivered in the corner of our eating area, which is spacious enough for the pool, pen, and anyone in want of "puppy time." It is also a quiet, low-traffic zone in which the puppies can nurse in peace.

Below are some "silly puppy pictures" taken in the last day, and we thought you might like them.

Wednesday, June 5, 2013

It was a fun day here!  The 11 puppies spent the day nursing and being held by the kids.  After a loud first night of crying and whining, the pups have calmed down and sleep in rows next to Ripley.  Mama is content and seems to be enjoying her new roll.  She does a lot of sitting and nursing!  It takes a lot for her to leave her babies.

This morning the puppies had their dew claws removed in Madison and then met many many relatives in Middleton (37 to be exact!!!).  They were held and kissed for a few hours at Grandpa and Grandma's house before we made our way back to Elm Grove.

The puppies are very helpless-they can't see, hear, or walk for a few more weeks.  Once they do wake up from their "newbornness", it will get really busy around here!  We have 4 black, wavy haired pups and 7 brown/red pups with waves or straight fur.  Three girls and eight boys make up the bunch.  There are a few chunky ones and a few thin pups.  All love their mother's milk!

Hopefully we have a quiet night.  I have been getting up to switch around  the puppies so that everyone gets a couple hours on mama's nipple!  Ripley is enjoying her midnight snack of warm milk!  Enjoy!

                                          Ripley Update
Here is the latest on Ripley. The puppies are nursing on and off, while alternately being adored by their little "Aunts" There appears to be a runt, but we are working on a trade-out system to ensure that Ripley is nursed enough and that the puppies receive their fair share of milk. We consider ourselves "safe," because the fur is curly and brown or black, and Cruella De Vil prefers  straight fur with spots.

                          Baby Labradoodles are finally here!
On June third, starting at about five in the afternoon, Ripley went into labor, which lasted until about eleven that night when the eleventh puppy was born. Everyone is very excited here and can't wait to show the relatives. Ripley is taking her mothering job well and is patiently letting her little ones nurse. The puppies are sleeping and nursing on and off while we try to get a moment to hold them. All are healthy (so far) and we can't wait to show off the puppies.
