GOOD-BYE!  WE WILL MISS YOU!

What a wonderful summer project the puppies have been for our family.  We loved watching them grow and can't wait to see the puppies grow into adults with their new owners.

The Quietest Puppy Litter Award!

The trip to the vet yesterday went really well.  All the puppies received a clean bill of health.  Yeah!  They were so well behaved that the vet gave us the Quietest Puppy Litter Award!  They were all given their first distemper shot, were weighed, and had a check up.  We borrowed a crate from a friend and used Ripley's to transport them.  People in the waiting room had to take pictures and ask a lot of questions!  Now that they are finished nursing, the vet gave his ok for them to go to their new homes.  Time flies!  It seems they were just born.

The puppies are so playful!  If they are not enjoying their bowl of food (which is gone in seconds), they are napping or wrestling with their brothers and sisters.

July 4

 HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!

We have never had a 4th of July quite like this one!  We had family over for pool fun, games, a cookout, smores, and fireworks.  The top attraction was the 11 puppies that enjoyed it all.  They didn't even mind the loud booms that filled the night.  What a great holiday!

The puppies wake us at 5:30, hungry as you can imagine since they are not sleeping with Ripley.  We have to work fast to get their morning mash ready and served up.  They enjoy their bowl of food, each having their own.  They share a common water pan.  After eating, they have to fight a bit, go potty, tug at some toys, and then it is nap time for a few hours.  They will miss sleeping in piles when they go to their new homes!

It is fun to hear the new names that are being chosen for the pups. Hulk will become Bixby, Tony is now Jarvus, Nick is Jagr, Captain is now Lux, Loki has become Bolt, Peggy is Aspen, Thor is Diesel.  Did I forget anyone?

Call to visit, if you'd like.  One doesn't get a chance to see such a beautiful and active sight very often!  Happy Summer!

The Days are Busy...

                                                                   The Days Are Busy...

These little guys are a busy bunch!  They are ready to eat and play in the morning when we wake up!  The girls are so helpful in cleaning the whelping pool, wiping the puppies down, and making their mash.  It gets to be quite a mess as they eat and scatter the food around!
The puppies have a July 18 appointment at the vet scheduled.  They will get their first distemper shot, have a fecal check, and be check out by the vet.  The puppies will be able to go to their new homes that next weekend.  They will need to continue going to the vet for boosters for a few months.   How exciting!
The new owners are busy shopping, reading, and preparing for their new arrival.  We have been feeding the puppies and their mom a high quality dog food called Life's Abundance.  We order it online and it is delivered within a day or two.  We have a large crate for Ripley that has a movable wall.  We put a towel over the top when she was little to give her security.  We will send a stuffed animal home with all the puppies that has been in the whelping pool with them all these weeks.  This will have the scent of the litter mates on it.

GORGEOUS!
The puppies are growing up!  They still take long naps but are always ready to be held by the kids or play with each other.  They are learning to paw and wrestle.  We've seen a few scratch their sides with their back leg.  The younger girls of the family pretend they are dolls and wrap them up and sing sweet nothings in their ears.  Ripley enjoys the help, we think!

All the puppies have new owners!  Peggy, whose new name is Aspen, is going the farthest.  Her new home is Denver!  She is pictured below.  Two pups will make their way to Minnesota, a few will go to homes in the Milwaukee area, one to Waunakee, and then one stays in Elm Grove to live with a family down the street.  It has been fun to see the new families interact with the pups.  There will be a few tears here as we say good-bye in a few weeks.

Today's purchases were 11 dog toys, a big bag of puppy food, and 11 little bowls!  We will start the pups on a mash of food this week.  Yum!  Ripley gets to go to the groomer tomorrow so she will feel light and carefree after her buzz!  We can't wait!

                                           Puppies Walking!
In the last week, the puppies have grown by leaps and bounds. Their eyes are clearly visible, and their claws are becoming more apparent. They are getting stronger and stronger. Most are walking on four legs without trouble.  Their features are getting more defined like labradoodles every day, especially their noses, eyes, and whiskers.

Ripley's puppies are almost all sold. On the weekend of June 15 seven pups met their new owners.  The best part of the whole process has been watching the beautiful smiles from everyone as they gaze at the whelping pen full of slumbering or squeaking pups.  For the few minutes that our guests are here, they forget all their worries and enjoy the little bodies in front of them!  It is such a joy to be able to be a part of a birthday surprise or a special moment!

Many of the pups are walking on shaky legs for the first time today.  Most of them have their eyes open.  We see a deep rich brown eye color-just like momma!  They have little whiskers and perfect paws.  Amazing!

                                      Puppies Going Fast!

Today many people came to see the puppies.  A grand total of three were sold only today. More future puppy owners are coming tomorrow.   The puppies have started to crawl and open their eyes.  How quickly those two weeks have gone by.  Happy fathers day to all! Hope your weekend is happy and healthy!

                                               Puppies' Sire
The puppies are starting to open their eyes. It will be fun to see them scampering around soon. Below are health papers and pictures of the puppies' sire, Gazoo. Isn't he handsome! We will be charging $700 per puppy and they will be ready to leave Ripley at around July 22.

                                                  Puppies
The puppies have grown a lot in the last week, and some are already big enough to try to crawl. Ripley is spending more time relaxing than she has in a long time. Every day she lets us walk her farther away from the house and the puppies. All are still very dependent on mother for milk and each other for warmth.
